Our client is a subsidiary of Japan Heavy Industries, a rapidly growing company in Southeast Asia with a factory located in Hanoi, Vietnam. With an area of over 1,076,391 ft² in an industrial park, their factory plays an important role in the global supply chain, supplying small gear motors and electric motors to their sales and assembly facilities around the world.
To optimize the production process, the client needed a comprehensive management system, including procurement, warehousing, processing, assembly and quality management. The system also needed to be able to trace the origin of products throughout the production stages and integrate seamlessly with external systems such as PLC and ERP of the parent company.
- Inefficient manual management: Current management processes mainly rely on MS Excel, leading to information not being continuously linked between production stages, increasing risks and errors.
- Lack of system documentation: There is no clear description of the current operating system and software, making it difficult to understand and evaluate before implementing new software.
To meet these challenges, GITS has designed a detailed plan with two phases:
- Business analysis & specification definition
GITS's business analysis (BA) team will conduct a thorough survey of current production processes, thereby determining which processes will be handled by the new software and which processes will continue to apply the current system.
- Development and implementation
Based on the results of the analysis phase, GITS will proceed to develop and implement the system, working closely with the customer's IT department to ensure a smooth go-live process. The system will integrate API for barcode/QR code devices to automatically collect data and support effective product traceability functions.
